What’s people’s thoughts on Luke davies-uniacke @ 340k? Break out contender in his 3rd year....

Tarryn Thomas is the one all the North fans are raving about.
That’s the bloke currently sitting F4 in my team.
He excites me as a North fan for sure - one of the reasons you go to the footy. I don't know if I can see him blowing SC apart next season as a forward, albiet a pretty dynamic one, but if he gets some regular midfield time and grows into the role he could be anything.

Do we think Freo under Longmuir are a) disciplined enough as a club and b) good enough to get something out of Jesse Hogan?

Pretty cheap for a guy who went 20/92 in 2018, including averaging nearly 100 in the first 11 games.

Would Tom Lynch (Richmond) be a better option @ 388,800?

It’s more about his body. He hurt his ankle quite recently

Hogan not worth the risk when there's Buddy, Tmac, Lynch not too much more expensive and all have similar upside.
All 4 have upside
All 4 are discounted for a reason
All 4 have risk
The fact Hogan is 60k cheaper than Lynch and Buddy and is only 24 (Lynch and TMac are 27 and Buddy is well... old) and has shown the ability at Melbourne to roam up the ground, take big marks, score goals or dish off makes me think that if Freo get it together on and off the field he is worth a look.

Plenty of ifs though - just exploring options.

Hogan can't stop partying. I'd be surprised if he plays 20 games. Even if he has a good year he's unlikely to hurt non owners like Buddy could.

are there whispers that his behaviour is still ongoing?
I wouldn't say I'm in the know but the daughter of a lady at my work seems to run into him at parties on a regular basis. Apparently a nice bloke, nothing criminal, but he just seems to struggle with the clean living required of a professional athlete. I think we are way too harsh on these young men when it comes to their social lives. There wouldn't have been many weekends that I didn't get pissed until I was in my 30's!!! As a high paid footballer I think they can be judged for their preparation and this is obviously an issue for the club paying their wage but I'm reluctant to demonise an individual when he's just doing what most young Australians do every weekend.

I do raise my eyebrows when you see 'professional' athletes out and about with ciggies in their mouths.... I get the booze but gee when lung capacity is such an important thing in AFL, surely you just don't smoke?

Hogan has been through more than most people in his life at his age so it's understandable if football isn't his whole life. He can get by on talent alone. Could be a Nroo level with extreme committment and luck with injuries, two things that I can't see happening so he can't be expected to be a good selection in SC.
