Mahony, Sturt and Cottrell are the 3 uncommon ones I've heard a bit about.

Maginness and Mead too, but they are F/S picks so it might just be a bit of romanticism.

We are still at the point of preseason where regular supporters think their team is great and on the up and there's no chance this 18yo will get a game ahead of 25yo listclogger who hasn't been outted as a listclogger just yet.

The kids will come, they always do.
I’ve heard some very positive comments about Mead. Possibly heard it on the phantom podcast, but can’t be sure.

Terrible news about McKenzie... Finally given a shot to make an AFL list and goes and does an ACL.

Pickett, Brady Grey, Isaya McKenzie and Nicolas Reid are the four guys who where going for that spot. Reid played for the Eagles reserves last season and is probably a long shot to make the main list. Not sure Grey is what the main list needs either though he's good playing for the WAFL Eagles.

If Pickett isn't in shape to make the list, maybe holding off until the mid-season draft is the best move.

Fits with what I heard about Pickett not being in the best of shape.

Grey a pretty neutral pick. Already playing for the reserves side. Would much rather other young players on the list get games ahead of him if needed.
If that's the case, perhaps they should do as you suggested earlier and leave the spot for the MSD...

I would prefer that, but they will upgrade Grey.

I mean he's a good bloke, great clubman, shows the other WAFL Eagles players that a path to the senior team is possible. Just think he's a bit vanilla as a footballer and not worth games over finding out what else we have on the list youth wise.

Richmond did the same with Jake Aarts, shows the club is willing to reward hard work in the VFL side.

obviously Rowell won't score as well as Walsh did last year due to not playing in as many wins but is clearly already their best midfielder and any teams best mid for 207,300 is worth it i.m.o

Have you seen him play against bigger bodies?
It's a big leap for players coming out of age competitions like the TAC cup and u18 champs. I think Petracca looked really good as a kid because he had a bigger body than the other 17 year olds.
I don't have an answer to the first question, just curious if anyone did.

He played against Casey (which had a fair few Demons listed players) earlier this year for the Australian Under 18 side and absolutely dominated it.

Listened to a matthew nicks interview from the other day and a few little takeaways...

Fischer McAsey is a strong chance to challenge hartigan for the second key defender spot
Ben Davis is a smoky for R1
Not rookie related....Gibbs likely to play half back at least to start the year - he is "training the house down"

Noah Anderson has 12kg on Rowell too so he might not be too bad either.. is he the forgotten man?

Jones and McHenry were mentioned a bit but more by the interviewers. I think he said Jones was ferocious and loved the contest....safe to say both those guys are up to their eyeballs in the R1 team. Jones is a lock and McHenry a strong likely I'd say

no to tex haha
