Satisfied the club and key people still there have accepted a level of accountability and faced some consequences in forms of penalties.
Good also that no crap about drug cheating has been levelled at these people and players.
The game was being damaged due to Essendon club and consequences now being felt..
AFL probably dealt with complicated mess about as best as could best expected in the circumstances.
Happy a few people pulled their head in and dropped the threat of taking some of this mess into court.

As I brought up a few weeks ago this Essendon v Richmond clash would be kind of weird and meaningless and it is exactly what is going to happen. Richmond kind of gain by the fact they can probably rest players knowing they can freshen up for home state Elimination Final. The worst that could happen is they lose, drop to 6th and then EARN a home state advantage final against Port Adelaide. You would think resting players the biggest priority now given these strange circumstances of final home and away round.

Couldn't agree more Oz. I'm happy Hird dropped the Supreme Court business and just accepted the sentence and we can finally focus on finals footy.

I was originally planning to tip Richmond but it seems a little more logical to tip us especially if Richmond do rest a couple of players.

The 9th (or 8th I suppose) team playing finals makes this upcoming round huge. Who are the teams in contention now? From memory Carlton, brissy, north?? Carlton at port, brissy at Geelong, north v collingwood. All very tough matches.

Yeah, I also heard Essendon VFL team were clear to play in the finals.
Interesting how Essendon AFL team deemed to finish 9th for season.
Most people probably thought they would lose all their points but the way he AFL have done it is probably less messy as it would effect later round draft orders if Essendon finished last and therefore got 1st pick of the 3rd, 4th and 5th picks of this years draft. Clubs would have been up in arms that were down near the bottom and find Essendon get their pick before them. Having them finish 9th causes less drama for the draft order overall.

Can't imagine how Brendan Goddard is feeling. As a kid him and his Mum were big Carlton fans and when he was about to get drafted Carlton had picks 1 and 2 in draft and virtually told Goddard and Daniel Wells they were going to pick them but then the drama of some salary cap breach meant Carlton lost all first and second round draft picks so Goddard was no longer going to the club he wanted. He then played for St.Kilda most of his career and made lots of life long friends there and went through a few heartbreaking Grand Final campaigns to narrowly miss a premiership and deal with some off field dramas that effected players at his club and the amazing way Ross Lyon left. He eventually became first player to use the new free agency rules to move to a new club offering a better deal and just when he arrives there that club is involved in a major investigation that eventually means his new home get disqualified from finals after a long tough season to live through as a player and the team do well enough to normally be a certain finalist and you only find out a week out from finals you cannot play in the finals series yourself.

Was chatting with a work mate the other day and he is not really into sport and football but somehow the conversation came up about football and he mentioned he felt sorry for his mate that plays for Essendon. I did not even know he knew someone there all this time and expected it would be some young fringe player and was going to ask him how his mate felt having been injected with unknown stuff and signing some waiver form. I did not expect his mate was Brendan Goddard so was not directly involved with the supplement program but geez Goddard has gone through hell and back emotionally in his football career. Can't imagine how he is feeling right now. Sliding door moments of his journey in football career just so unique and amazing.

you know what I mean lol
I know.. lol... but the AFL have kind of ruined all the jokes at Richmond expense of a club finishing 9th and making finals after the amount of times Richmond have been ninth and missed finals by one spot on ladder. I guess AFL have hit Essendon with the Richmond stick.

It is a weird looking ladder now with my club sitting in 8th spot. Annoys the hell out of me how we kicked so inaccurate and blew our chance last weekend to set up a virtual knockout final v Port Adelaide. As it turns out if we had won both Carlton and Port would have been certain finalist and the match a fizzer for round but could both rest up players for week one of finals. Now we lost last weekend we don't have that luxury and have to win. I guess the good news is Kruezer and Walker got a week off last weekend so if we win this weekend we might get Juddy back for a week one final. The problem is important senior players Carrazzo, Scotland and McLean all almost certain to miss. Our VFL team season is over too so fringe players won't have opportunity to push their case for promotion. I think Dylan Buckley should have played last weekend rather than Aaron Joseph.

"EVAN"

IDIG is the first recognisable user
EVAN is actually my account and is the only double account on this site. EVAN is my 3.5 year old son!!

I only log on the Evan account when I'm testing for changes as it's a non-moderator and non-administrator account :).

I'll list the first 20 registered users in a sec, let me check LOL

Guest is a token member as I use it when a member makes a post then deletes the account or is banned but the post is valid so I assign to a guest. Okay let me check the list, very interesting.

Without checking all the threads and posts on the website (and yes there are tens of thousands), I actually remember that comment.

I remember responding to that comment, something like 'whatever you think will be a SuperCoach secret, my goal is to find it and share it to the world (something on those lines).

How did others find this site? I found it from bigfooty where jay was posting. Have pretty much since then packed my forum bags and moved. I just go there to interact in keeper leagues for UF I'm in. Hardly ever check the SC section anymore.
