FWI guys, some of you seem to need me to approve the posts at the moment when you post in the other forum.
Unsure why this is the case, have been trying to play around with the settings, as it is not an issue for our other keeper league.
Will keep at it and work it out, just bare with me until its solved.

Arcadia Timelords are excited to launch our club song which has been adapted from Black Sabbath’s “Paranoid” ...

Manipulating space and time, so we are always in our prime.

Dominating every line, our silky skills are so sublime.

Cheering fans on the sideline, help launch us for our ladder climb.

Winning flags to pass the time, we are the envy of mankind.

We’re the Timelords

From Arcadia

Oh yeah
*For those not familiar with the tune ...

Is it just me or in the latest spreadsheet do I see that the following teams "appear" to have exceeded the "draft" salary cap:

- Arcadia Timelords by $496,067
- Roppingian Rangers by $289,744
- Goordie's Giants by $98,241
- Neptune Knight by $161,219

No they are all fine. You're looking at the 'Average Salary' column, not the '2020 Contract' column.

Mmm ... just trying to get my head around how the "ave" salary can exceed the drafting cap ... might just be a late night / early morning thing (been crunching opposition teams all night) ... just doesn't compute to me ... might have a simple mind but isn't it still an average of the original contract paid no matter how you break the contracts up ... or did I miss a loophole etc ...

- I totally get the 2020 salary side of things ... with back ending etc but ...

If the AVERAGE SALARY has exceed the $18M salary cap, that means teams have back ended some or all of their 2017 Draft Class players. i.e. In 2020 they are paying less than the average for some or all of those players.

In response to a couple of queries, the below are the strengths and weaknesses of my squad as I see it.

The strengths are where I believe trades could be done to assist another side to improve, the weaknesses where I would generally be looking to focus my trades.

Strengths
- Durability. Most of my best 22 typically play 19+ games, especially forward and back.
- Depth, especially forward. I could fairly happily start my F10 if I had to. Could potentially trade some of this away for the right deal.
- Quality in defense, with two of the best defs of recent years in Lloyd and Doc (Docherty also very cheap), alongside Rampe and Hurley. Short should provide a very good supplement in future years once Houli shuffles off.
- High quality, clear #1 young ruck in ROB. Front-ended contract means he could have even greater value to another side as he matures.
- R3 could be quite strong once Kreuzer returns/if Hickey ends up as a starting ruck. Fort and/or De Koning could also prove quite useful in time.
- Reasonable value across a range of names such as Doc, Short, Sier, Ceglar, Kreuzer, Greenwood, Fort, Steven, Mclean and Hill.
- 9 contract years available.

Weaknesses
- Is working too hard a weakness?
- Few mids in the very highest echelon. Could do with another captaincy option or two.
- Some game count concerns around mids near-term (Hunter suspension, Zorko and Hep niggles), albeit most are quite durable in normal circumstances.
- Not many very high draft picks. Talent pipeline is more focused on young emerging players with upside, like Sier.
- Limited ruck back-up right now.
- Very limited salary cap available. First trade may need to be a downgrade/paired with a second trade.

Hey lads, not long now until we get our first SCSUL games underway.

Only a couple of teams still to create their team threads in TapTalk.

I have created a Trade Discussion Hub in the TapTalk forum, use this as a place to post things relating to your clubs trade wishes, such as players on the trade table, players/positions you might wish to be targeting, salary/contract requirements, untouchables, etc. Access via the link below...
