*** mannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn that Dunkley news just pours more salt into my wounded team. 
Will need to trade out Whitfield and Dunkley which means that clown Houston will survive yet another week in my team. This season is so screwed up. All I'm doing is making sideways trades. I don't think I'll get a team full of premiums this season.

The Department of Health and Human Services concluded only one close contact, which is great news for the industry and a little wake up call for everyone to tidy up a few practices within clubs. Essendon now get to play Carlton, near full strength fresh off an extended break.
Was surprised so many wanted to cancel this game and imply the whole team would be out of action, there was just never any support for that conclusion!
Essendon should play tomorrow night, and then back up on Sunday or Monday - we can be flexibile and push a fixture one or two days!

Despite the negative test results, someone who comes into close contact with a person who has tested positive is required to quarantine for 14 days. This is due to an incubation period, where someone can test negative but still carry the virus.
Age article notes the above too. Safest approach is for everyone to wait 14 days to be sure but if the medical authorities are happy to ignore tackling as close contact, AFL isn’t going to ask further questions.
I just hope no one else develops symptoms next week and very glad initially no one else has tested positive.
I am actually going to give the AFL a pat on the back here.
From the time everything unravelled on Saturday afternoon until getting a result last night is pretty damn good in my thinking.
Talking to the commission , talking to Essendon , talking to ALL other 17 clubs , other stakeholders etc etc you would hope that the processes and protocols put in place have worked (and yes with so much uncertainty things probably still need to be changed and tinkered with , let's face it they (we as a society) are well and truly working with a great unknown.
I am sure the Health Department would then need time to undertake a thorough investigation (I would certainly hope so) and get all the players , coaches and support staff tested again.
Through this time you can't expect Melbourne to sit around twiddling the thumbs waiting for a result one way or the other they still need to get "match conditioning" into their players.
Fixtures have been done in blocks for a reason , plenty of time now for Auld to sit down and work through several options in regards to when the Ess v Melbourne game is played.
Unfortunately for us SC fantasy coaches , we might not be high up on the AFL's list of priorities at the present time , even though perhaps we should be ?
Anyway just my thoughts. Round 3 is in the history books now time to move on to Round 4.
Disclaimer : I have absolute zero idea of the Covid-19 protocols and processes the AFL has given to the club nor what goes on behind closed doors outside of what the media circus reports.

You are again redefining the definition of close contact to suit your argument.
The only definition of close contact that matters is the health departments, and not surprisingly it is the one that has been used to determine what close contact is.
You and I can spit ball all we want as to what close contact is, however it is irrelevant!

Simpkin seems to be the hot property this week, however Bailey Smith is the same price and looks to have similar prospects (also at 5% ownership v 10% for Simpkin). I wonder if he is worth a look as well
Unfortunately I don't think I have the cash otherwise he is an IN for mine.
