If the above is correct, how do the Pies fans on here feel about the way this is playing out?

Personally I think it’s disgraceful.[/QUOTE
Yeh I totally forgot about that, 500k per year for another 2 years. Some speculation on contracts though as I was reading the other day the offer North put forward to Dusty was 1.6m per year over a long period.
the
I find it all quite surprising and confusing. The club is far from perfect, but in general a lot of what has been alleged seems out of character in my view. I suspect there is more to come out in time. Without knowing the detail I took it as a given that we would want Treloar at the club next year, as I did.
yeah, I wouldn’t believe anything from a newspaper reporter.

That said the PIES midfield does need some urgent attention, need to find two
inside mids real quick and an outside with a good delivery by foot. By Next season or plan for 2022. The skipper and Sidebottom have been great servants to the club but time moves on, 2021 should be the last season for both.

The past few years the club has held onto a few players they should of let go. And then you have the beams deal...***.

And as a result, the clubs playing list is a bit of a mess at this point in time and will be for a few years.

Wonder if the dogs should offer up pick 13 to the Hawks for McEvoy and later pick in return. Wonder if that would get the Hawks to consider it. He is 31 years old so you wouldn't think he would be apart of their next premiership or even finals side on what they produced this year.

Could add to the Bulldogs chances of a flag and disolve the pick in something they actually need over being consumed in a Ugle-Hagan bid.Would give Hawks more for the future.
Hawks have definitely been in discussions for the Dogs 1st rounders, whether anything eventuates will probably play out from the mid-later part of the trade period I suspect.

Have also heard some talk that the Dogs did enquire about McEvoy, but that was quickly quashed by the Hawks.

BOMBERS REJECT FIRST OFFER FOR FANTASIA

Essendon wants a first-round pick from Port Adelaide for Orazio Fantasia, reports The Age.

The Power made an initial offer of Pick 26 (now Pick 28, thanks to free agency compensation) for the wantaway forward, according to the report, which most believed was a fair asking price.

But the Bombers rejected the first bid and have asked for a first-round selection - which Port Adelaide does not have.

The Power’s main focus at the draft this year is matching a potential top ten bid for next generation academy player Lachie Jones.

Fantasia, 25, is contracted for another year at Essendon but wants to return to his home state. He played just five games this year with soft tissue injuries. https://www.foxsports.com.au/afl/af...a/news-story/55da6dc3559b84c44553fd51889c3743

I'd desert the trade now as I think pick 26 was fair. Try again in 12 months when he is a RFA.

I'd say sorry Orazio we wouldn't have minded you at fair value ..... but probably won't see you for at least another year .... just can't make a reasonable / fair deal with a DoDo in the equation ...

Yeh got to remember he rejected them last year after it was pretty much done. Alot has changed since then with Port challenging and Essendon not. Fantasia being injured again isn't good as he has only managed a 20 and 19 game season in his 7 years. I wouldn't even want him as he is only going to take away time from Bergman and Williams having a shot.

Early exit? Veteran Cats mid could take payout for 2021
Geelong midfielder Jack Steven's playing future is up in the air with a year remaining on his contract
AFL.com.au understands there have been preliminary discussions over the possibility of Steven departing the Cats prematurely.
Any severing of ties between Steven and the Cats would need to be agreed to by the veteran, with a financial settlement for his final season.

The following changes to the NGA concession model ahead of the 2021 and 2022 NAB AFL Drafts will be as follows:

  • From 2021, nominated NGA prospects will only be eligible to be matched from Pick 21 in the NAB AFL Draft. All other players selected from Pick 41 onwards can be matched by their Club using their next available selection, while undrafted players are still eligible to pre-selected on the rookie list.
  • From 2022, nominated NGA prospects will only be eligible to be matched from Pick 41 onwards by their Club using their next available selection, while undrafted players are still eligible to pre-selected on the rookie list.
This model allows for elite talent to be available to all AFL Clubs while still ensuring late prospects can find their way onto an AFL list and continue their relationship with the respective Club that has been supporting them.

A summary of changes can be found here.

..... and people thought Melbourne screwed the pooch when we "let him go". :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
Meanwhile Steven May was stiff not to be AA.

I said at the time to anybody who was listening that I was more than happy for Jesse to be shown the door.

I do hope he can get his mental state in a good place though and get back to playing some good footy. Unfortunately an early retirement is looking the most likely outcome in my opinion.
