FWIW I'm staggered by Collingwoods approach to this trade period
Has the potential to set the club back 10 years
Yeah what's going on over there? Played and won finals this year albeit didn’t make it all the way to the pointy end. Hardly seems like the kind of timing for the crazy fire sale they seem to be embarking on?

I'm half expecting them to roll out Tim Shaw from Demtel as their new recruiting manager!

FANTASIA MAKES INTENTIONS KNOWN

Essendon’s trade capital with Orazio Fantasia has taken a hit, with the contracted forward reportedly telling the club he will not be returning to the club in 2021.

Fantasia has requested a trade to Port Adelaide, but Essendon list boss Adrian Dodoro has so far driven a hard bargain on any potential move.

9 News Adelaide reported on Friday night that Fantasia had told the club just how intent he was on getting to the Power.

“Orazio Fantasia will not return to Essendon next season under any circumstances,” reporter Jack Berketa said.

“It’s understood he’s told both list manager Adrian Dodoro and new coach Ben Rutten that he does not want to return to Melbourne in 2021.”

Take the 2nd rounder and run I'd say but he shouldn't be picky on which SA club then and give Essendon the best deal. He owes them that much.
The 2nd rounder could become handy with a future 1st for Dunkley.

Tommy Morris has just dropped this ...
Port Adelaide is prepared to walk away from Orazio Fantasia just as the player walked away from them in 2019.Essendon and the Power are at an impasse in negotiations around the half-forward, with the Dons asking for a first rounder or an established player.Port Adelaide has offered Pick 29 but the Bombers have been steadfast in their desire to claim a higher selection. The Power don’t own a first-round pick in December’s National Draft after trading it in 2019 to bank selections so they could secure Next Generation Academy prospect Lachie Jones. If Essendon requests a future first round pick, Port Adelaide will also refuse given the abundance of South Australian talent on offer in 2021.Will Orazio Fantasia find his way back to South Australia? Will Orazio Fantasia find his way back to South Australia? If Port Adelaide walks away from Fantasia this week, it will not be payback for the 25-year-old leaving Port at the altar last year. The Power were well down the road in contract negotiations with Fantasia and were waiting on him to request a trade. But he pulled out at the 11th hour, frustrating Port Adelaide and ruling out a future play for him.But 12 months on, Fantasia has made it abundantly clear he wants to play at Alberton in 2021, despite having a season to run on his contract at the Bombers. As first reported by Foxfooty.com.au, Essendon was especially keen on Mitch Georgiades as it seeks to find a key position replacement for Joe Daniher. But the 19-year-old is in discussions around a new deal with Port that would extend him beyond 2021.Given Fantasia’s preference is to get back to South Australia, Adelaide could also come into the mix but it’s understood the Crows would be hesitant to give up a selection given their priority is to get Jackson Hately in and stockpile draft picks.

Connors Sports Management is handling several players looking to find new homes this Trade Period. In an interview on Trade Radio, Paul Connors said:

  • He was confident he could orchestrate a trade for Jack Higgins to join St Kilda.
  • Stef Martin's move to the Bulldogs is on track, ideally as a trade for a late pick.
  • He expected contracted Magpie Jaidyn Stephenson to remain at Collingwood.
  • Both Brisbane and Alex Witherden were open to looking at their options.
  • Ryan Lester was pushing for a two-year contract extension with Brisbane.
  • Aliir Aliir was open to looking at his options, "possibly" including Port Adelaide.

TIGER HIGGINS REQUESTS TRADE
Richmond's Jack Higgins has officially requested a trade and wants to join St Kilda.

Higgins is contracted for 2021 and the Tigers have expressed a preference to retain him.

The 21-year-old's manager, Paul Connors, said Higgins requested a trade over the weekend and is in search of more opportunities.

"He just wants to play footy and he'd love an opportunity at the Saints," Connors said.
Higgins had been linked to St Kilda prior to the Trade Period opening but needed to formally request a move before the Tigers would entertain offers for him.

The forward-midfield will join Brad Crouch and Shaun McKernan as off-season acquisitions for the Saints if the clubs can agree to a trade.

Hawks' interest in young Pie cools
Collingwood's Tom Phillips could return to the club next season, with Hawthorn "unlikely" to advance its interest in the wingman.
The Hawks have explored the option of bringing in the 24-year-old, who has a year to run on his contract at the Pies.
However, according to Hawks football boss Graham Wright, they are prioritising the draft with a focus on young talent.

Is 24 not youthful enough? Thought he would be a good get at his age and being a salary dump probably get him on the cheap. You know what you get from him.
