Duly noted.

Can I request one thing though, I have seen a few posters on here refer to the team I support as "wet toast" or "weagles" or even better as in this case "wet toast weagles" ... gets old very quickly.

I don't refer to any other teams that members on this site support in derogatory terms, just think it is very unnecessary/almost childlike.

Am I being overly sensitive? Possibly, but in my club's most challenging period (some self inflicted granted with our trading decisions) I don't think ridiculing is required/ essentially I feel you are kicking the club whist they are down which is poor etiquette in my book.

If the leadership/ moderator group on here feel my post isn't required then feel free to remove it/ your prerogative.

But I couldn't let another post like this slide by without comment, thanks (y)
I agree with this, but already find very little of it on this forum - even when it's there it's generally good-natured. Being an Essendon supporter in the last 5, 10 years I know the worst of it - even from Essendon supporters. Tiresome.

What is just as or more tiresome is the abuse of players. This is a free game, literally a 'fantasy' game - and while I know a lot of players earn a lot of money, unless they commit a heinous act against another player etc., they don't deserve abuse because they've not scored enough points as we'd like in a SC sense. Not that they hear it directly, but its part of a larger culture that does find its way to them, which as we've seen is pretty heirnous in itself. Anyway. As I said, this is probably the best footy forum on any level for fraternity amongst posters of all teams and certainly football and SC knowledge.

BTW, I didn't realise Weagles was derogatory. I thought it was just a contraction, but even though I've ever used the term, I'll make sure not to. I find it annoying anyway, like a lot of abbreviations and footy speak that often originates from media pundits.

Also, I'm not on top of all the Eagles news - I gather there are some recruitment questions and the like amongst it of which I'm not aware - but it baffles me a bit that their state's particular handling of a pandemic, which is decimating the team, is their fault. Seems a bit unfair. And again, I know unfair.

The more I look at his stats the more I think I'll pass. Has the amazing ability to turn a good DT score into a terrible SC score.
I think it’s a pass from me too, will pass on Curtis also

I will bring in Clark this week as I am confident on his job security going forward and I don’t need the warm body this week. Gives me some cash in the bank and another week to look at Carroll and Hamilton and with Stephens on the horizon too, provides for a few options going forward

Giants assistant coach Steve Johnson expects Toby Greene will keep Tom Stewart contained in GWS v Geelong match

After a best-on-ground performance, Tom Stewart is set to receive a bit of extra attention from the Giants in round 8.

A former Geelong great has warned his old club that Tom Stewart will not have free reign for the second consecutive week as the Cats prepare to face the Giants.

Stewart enjoyed a career-best game despite Geelong’s loss to Fremantle at GMHBA Stadium in round 7, collecting 40 disposals, 14 marks and 962 metres gained.

But Cat-turned-Giant Steve Johnson, who is the forwards coach at Greater Western Sydney, said Stewart would be held accountable when Geelong play in Canberra on Saturday.

“Tom’s been one of the best defenders in the competition, pretty much since his inception into the Geelong team,” he said.

“We’ll for sure talk about how we can curtail his influence, he was best on field in a narrow loss last week and that’s form you can’t ignore.

Johnson said there was a “strong chance” Greene could be tasked with keeping Stewart accountable

“We do our research on the key defenders of the opposition that we’re coming up against and you don’t want to be beaten by what you know.

“While we want our players to play to their strengths, we’ve also got to be aware of what the opposition players can bring to their team as well.”

What is a torn calf muscle?
Your calf muscles (the gastrocnemius and soleus) are in your lower leg, behind your shin bone. They extend from behind your knee down to your heel. These muscles can tear if you perform sudden movements that severely overstretch them. Calf muscle tears can be partial or complete (rupture).

Your calf muscles are at especially high risk for tears because of their location between two joints — the ankle and the knee. These muscles also have very tight muscle fibers, making them prone to overstretching injuries.

Smal Tear 3 weeks, makes Hewitt return round 10 as listed, any complications in rehab leads to more time missed. If Odriscall (loop) doesnt score above 75 might move Sideways Trade on Hewitt.

#35 Gastro this week, Coach mentioned foot soreness last week hinted at possible rest, half expecting a late out.

This post has given me some food for thought.
I might keep NOD and trade Daicos

Yeah agree on Hewett: 1 week then became 2, and now reports of 3, with a bye a week later I think. He may not be back for 5 or so. Real issue to be dealt with.
Yeap having the same thoughts, expecting Carlton wont bring him back early and risk long term injury. (Surgury)

Hewitt is an important part of the Midfield and will be needed for the finals

Yeap Carlton make the 8.

Agree with this. Player abuse and abuse in general is what made me sick of big footy and switch to this forum, which I've loved being a part of this forum since switching where its generally sc/fantasy chat and very little team v team/supporter base v supporter base chat, but some abuse is starting creep it's way in here too. The ignore function has been handy

Criticism is fine, but it doesn't need to turn into abuse

I'd like to, however living in Scotland one game starts at 4.45am and the next at 7.35am Saturday morning, it's an early alarm to check scores so may have to just field one.
Where's your dedication :p

Seriously though, if SC want to attract more casuals and international players then going back to Friday night lockout seems like a no brainer to me. Impossible to compete these days without checking and tweaking your team a 1000 times each weekend. I guess if all they care about is hits on their site, then the rolling lockout is doing its job, but are they really gaining anything if its just the same people logging in over and over again. I can look at those KFC advertisement week after week but I'm still not going to buy any of their greasy fried kitchen.

Doesn't mean I'm right to be, but I'll be happy if people trade Hewett. Seems a real waste in the middle of upgrade season, even if he is out for 2 more.
I agree. We don't know how it's going to pan out but if he returns and continues on his merry way those who traded will be a keeper behind for the rest of the year.
