almost feel like 180k in the first round for a bowler who bats 11 is madness regardless of how fantastic a player they are.

unless you wanted to straight swap him for a big money scorcher in round 2
Largely depends on team structures for Round 2 and trade targets. The likes of Stoinis, Zampa and Coulter-Nile make it difficult to grab the likes of Behrendorff, Tye, Marsh, Mills, Agar, etc unless you hold onto a large cash reserve, start a few of them in Round 1 or enter without a loophole. This is where the boost will come in handy if you wish to target this round and trading a or two high value players will help afford your key targets. Also provides more flexibility for current and future trades rather than limiting your options.

Jordan 28.8 (5) = $ 125,000.00
Stoinis 28.75 = $ 83,400.00 🤔

Lynn 25.00 = $ 112,200.00 🤔
Shadab 24.67 (3) = $ 125,000 🤔

Hughes 29.17 = $ 84,600.00
Vince 26.13 (8) = $99,900.00 🤔
Silk 24.20 = $ 84,700.00 🤔
Inglis 24.17 = $ 84,700.00 🤔

Poor Doggett 1 (1) = $ 145,300.00

Let's just hope Jhye stays at $ 149,500.00

Its a shame Green wont be available for those early games, really needed to be able to split 2 of those starting premiums into Marsh and a cheaper player on the double, not sure how we navigate it now to be honest.
Especially with Perth on the bye first up. If we could see how they line up, eg. If Marsh wasn't bowling, I'd be tempted to roll the dice against him.

He , Agar , Jhye & Inglis could throw things into complete chaos if they are all in the Test Squad then released to play the second game (19th) only of their DGR.

Al Paton's initial team

Sams * , Bazley * , Hales , David , Stoinis * / T Kelly , Burns

Abbott , RK19 , Boult , Willey * , Zampa / Tremain , Kellapotha

Must think Maxy is in the Test Squad 🤔

Cutting confirmed by the Thunder.

Was wondering whether he would go around again , is he Best XI anymore with Rossouw &Willey signing ?

Maybe a opening option.

If they play 5-6

Hales , Rossouw , J Sangha are locks + keeper & Cutting/Ross for the final spot

Certainly want both Sams & Willey coming in higher than 6 & 7 though.

I had a bit of time on my hands this morning so I've tried to assess each teams best XI on current lists not including players most likely with Australia (already posted Scorchers) so here's my thoughts (I have Cutting in best XI for Thunder as gives flexibility) -

Thunder - Hales, Gilkes, J Sangha, Rossouw, Ross, Sams, Willey, Cutting, Green, McAndrew & T Sangha.
Sixers - Philippe, Patterson, Vince, Henriques, Hughes, Silk, Kerr, Abbott, Jordan, Dhwarshus & O'Keefe (unsure where Christian fits in?).
Renegades - Finch, Livingstone, S Marsh, Maddison, Wells, Harper, Sutherland, Prestwidge, Richardson, Rogers & Mujeeb.
Stars - Stoinis, Clarke, Larkin/Burns, Maxwell, Cartwright, Webster, NCN, L Wood, Zampa, Couch & Boult.
Hurricanes - McDermott, Wade, Short, Ali, Khan, Ashraf, David, Ellis, Meredith, Paris & Tremeain/Stanlake.
Strikers - M Short, Weatherald, Lynn, Hose, CDG, Kelly, Nielosn, R Khan, Agar, Thornton & Conway (unsure if Siddle has signed?)
Heat - Bryant, Munro, Billings, Renshaw,Whitely, Peirson, Neser, Bazley, Bartlett, Stekettee & Swepson.

Good luck to everyone.

Looks pretty good , a few Squads still to be completed , who knows how big the Test Squad will be and if they release players back and forth.

Just looked up Cutting's bowling last season (only 10 overs) so think they might play Doggett (possibly read he is injured at the moment) / Sandhu (yet to sign admittedly) instead and juggle Cutting & Ross.

If they use Cutting to open (twice last season) , lessens Gilkes appeal (assuming he keeps)

No news on Siddle yet.

Livingstone unavailable for the first 3 games , media speculation was maybe Faf or DreRuss for a short term contract.

Be surprised if Hosein doesn't play.

Great work though

Dont expect there to be a great deal of variety in starting sides tbh, with the way the fixture is set up you really need to stack the sides with the doubles in the first 2 rounds to be any chance, expect most are going to end up with 10 with Short and a Scorcher or two on the pine.

You think Short will be that popular? Has had some good innings recently but haven’t seemed to be quick scoring. Obviously multiple avenues to points but suspect he will be somewhat a pod.

Agree there won’t be much variation but there will be some differences on how hard people go on scorchers.

Short needs to be at the top of the order I reckon otherwise the best method is probably to just pick the extra all rounder in that range on the double, just not sure bowling can bail him out when they'll have Meredith,Ellis,Khan,Ashraf and one of Paris and Stanlake, Dooley and Tremain could easily get opportunities aswell and that's assuming Boland won't be signed.

Think we can set up with 3 Scorchers but will be interested how everyone navigates it, Inglis is dirt cheap and theres plenty of value out of the likes of Gilkes,Stoinis,Lynn,Roussow,Zampa,NCN and Wood to get us through GW1.

Round 2 availability or otherwise of Bison , Inglis & Jhye will go along way in determining people's starting teams.

If they are all unavailable for 1 or both games of their DGR , people might setup things differently especially on who to keep/trade out in Round 2 if we don't need $ for Bison

Can you keep or trade out Boult , Maxy & RK19 in Round 2 to get the higher priced Scorchers (if available).

Agar , Behrendorff , Bison , Hardie (?) , Inglis, Jhye , Mills , Salt will have his followers , Tye

Is Boult still part of the Black Caps after the T20 WC , home series v India could tell us , will he go to Pakistan though ? NZC might "request" he misses the start of BBL even though he is no longer contracted

Hard not to start :-

Rashid
Boult , Maxwell , Stoinis , Zampa
Hales , Sams , Willey

Pick a keeper , if Gilkes isn't opening , don't see the value in him even with back-to-back DGR , Nielsen offers next to nothing , Clarke $ 150k +

Probably another 6-8 viable Stars , Strikers & Thunder that you could start.

Heat with a Bye in Round 2 , do we start any of them ? and get a head start for Round 3 (possibly 5-7 viable options)

Hosein , Mujeeb , Shadab , Wade and others all offer value , Hurricanes could offer up 1-2 cheap bowling options depending on Faheem's status

Follow the fixtures or start a few of them.

Hopefully the Test Squad (14-15) for the WI series will give us a bit of a idea.

Will a Australia A game stuff up weeks of planning and thinking ? again

Lots to play out yet

3 scorchers would allow for more flexibility in round 2 trading but that seems a lot. Besides Inglis there isn’t really a cheap avenue into the side (unless we get news that Evans will move up the order). With Maxi, Rashid, Sams, Willey, Boult, Short there’s also plenty of expensive guys on the dgw to try and find room for.
