How people assess Willey interests me, not sure how often hes gonna bat when theres Sams and Cutting there that have cemented the finisher roles, probably good enough just as a bowler with back to back doubles though to be fair.

Dont expect there to be a great deal of variety in starting sides tbh, with the way the fixture is set up you really need to stack the sides with the doubles in the first 2 rounds to be any chance, expect most are going to end up with 10 with Short and a Scorcher or two on the pine.
I expect whoever is leading after Rd 1 won't have stacked up on double gamers, instead picking high scoring single gamers, happens nearly every year. Might be the strategy to go for? :)

the Exciting 8 + Inglis , Nielsen & Sutherland leaves $ 583,700.00 in the Bank for 5 players, 2 onfield

Adding Clarke $ 153,800.00 leaves $ 429,900.00 for 4 players , 2 onfield

(arguments sake using CDG & Lynn leaves you $ 192,700.00 for 2 remaining bench players)

or using Gilkes $ 97.400.00 leaves $ 486,300.00 for 4 players , 2 onfield

(arguments sake using CDG & Lynn leaves you $ 249,100.00 for 2 remaining bench players)

Benching Stoinis & Zampa in Round 2 will require decent starting bench cover.

I certainly won't be leading after Round 1 but as long as I am doing significantly better than last seasons Round 1 ranking of 29,485th I will be happy :) 11 x DGR for me to start although still tossing up WK1

I almost surely won't be running with 9 wicket keepers this year, but I managed to stay in touch fairly well early on with that strategy. :ROFLMAO:

That's right , I do recall that now.

McDermott , Philippe , Clarke , Billings could be interesting to start

Value in Gilkes , Inglis & Wade , just park Nielsen @ WK2

you could try a all OS team or a All Aussie team this season or just pick a team and win the whole bloody thing :)

Wouldn't Inglis be in doubt for early games now for Scorchers? Question is, does Salt take the gloves or Bancroft?

cricket.com reporting it is only a 2 week injury , no surgery required.

"It's damage to the palm of the hand, which is less than ideal in his right hand, so where he'd be gripping the bat and if he did have to 'keep, the ball would be impacting that area.

"He saw a hand specialist yesterday, thankfully, there's no tendon damage. That's the positive out of the negative, that there's no tendon damage, and they've been able to stitch it up and clean up the wound and let the healing begin.

2 (probably stupid questions)
1. Is it smart to start off with M.Marsh and on the bench and then just sub him in for week 2?
2. Who is the best wicketkeeper under 100k? (or do I get rid of marsh and thencould get anyone...)

1. What does the rest of your team look like with Marsh on the bench ? I would imagine it means you are going to miss out on 1 maybe 2 of the higher costing players that have a DGR to start so how many points are you giving up.

If he is in the extended Test Squad may/may not even play both games of their DGR.

2. Gilkes seems the popular option to start (back to back DGR's) , mind you if he is not opening , maybe not worth it , as for a playing replacement under $ 100k no idea

Cheers for the reply, may be worth swapping Marsh out then. Screen Shot 2022-10-20 at 4.41.34 pm.png This is my current team with 2.5K spare. So taking out marsh could bring me another good dgw and better wicket-keeper...

Marsh over Boult then by the looks of things.

Each to their own just curious as to why Hosein over Zampa who is on a DGR ?

Haven't really looked at the Hurricanes in detail might come down to Paris/Tremain/Stanlake for that third seamer spot.

Kellapotha probably doesn't play until Hosein & Mujeeb depart.

I guess it then comes down to Round 2 trades , might need to lose both of Maxy & Rashid depending which other Scorchers you are targeting.

Think Stoinis & Zampa are both Xmas presents 😀

Don't mind Hosein , also like Mujeeb , think he will be a different bowler away from the Gabba.

No point getting locked into a team yet , too many unknowns to play out.

Clarke's probably the pick I'm most undecided on right now, best is unreal and could really burn not owning but hes had a pretty hot and cold 12 months and is 150k this time round, really not sure what way I'll go there.
This is the difficult thing about BBL SC. Clarke putting two single digit scores together is just as likely as him putting up back to back 50s. Find it hard to justify leaving him out or picking him.

Not to mention the keeper situation in the three teams on the double is a bit sketchy outside him. I don't think the Stars even have another keeper right now, Carey won't be playing and Nielsen has never been viable, and who the Thunder have keeping and where they bat is anyone's guess.

The real value for mine is with Wade but it's a tricky spot for sure.

A couple of years ago we had Adelaide on bye-double-double to start and I managed to get Rashid onto my R1 bench almost by accident - think I'd managed to jag a good bench score and switched someone I wasn't quite as sure about for him. It's always good to make sure your donuts you carry through are definitely players you want in the next round, but with that much outlay you really need to nail some cheap picks.

Australia going into the World Cup without a second keeper. If Wade is out injured Maxwell and Warner are the keeping options so maybe the Stars do have another keeper!!

As a general observation, I think it’s good to work towards having maximum capital rotating through the DGRs. Marsh having a bye first up means that starting him is closer to the other way around, so I’d only do it in special cases. Having a plan to get him in R2 might be important, but I don’t think you need to start him to achieve that, and you can probably make better use of his cash in R1.
