I was more interested in what people think he will score from here... is the last 2 rounds the norm or do people think he can average 90-100 from here
80-90 for mine.

Won't be doing any rucking at all basically unless Lycett and or Ryder get injured.

Will be mainly playing tall forward most weeks with Dixon likely done for the year and Marshall taking longer than expected to come on.

As the tall forward he is deadly accurate but I doubt he can handle taking the best tall defender week in week out as seen by being touched up by Weitering for a half, Walker and Andrews for a half each.

I think he had a spike last year due to an extremely good year, along with relief rucking duties which won't be the norm and he'll regress back to his usual 85-95 average that he had prior (which i think will drop slightly as he is well and truly over 30 now which he wasnt then).

Age is also not on his side (32) which is important to factor in

Pretty much have my defence and midfield upgrade targets laid out, but have no idea who will fill my F3-F6. Any thoughts on these players. There are a plethora of mid pricers and nearly premiums but which ones to target may still be too early to tell. I don't trust Boak.
These players include:
Kelly
Daniel
Gresh
Gray
Hawkins
Hoff
Greene
Dahl
Worp
Menegola
Parfitt (may have taken next step)
Dare I say it Tom J Lynch who I traded out for Marshall this week.
Buddy (should be super cheap at some stage)
Josh J
TMac

I may have missed one or two who could still figure in top 10!

Kelly
Hoff (will be too cheap to ignore ruck cover for those with Bines R/F rookie)
Smith (could be value there in 3 weeks)

good point re Hoff, so close to starting him, luck I didn't. I just can't bring myself to have Smith in my team. Who would be your next 2 Yas?

I think you stole my list :)

before this round I was keeping an eye on how much cheaper Kelly , Menegola , Smith , Tom Tom , Buddy & Westhoff would be , should all be under $ 500 k after Rd 6/7

Liked the look of Lynch last night but if he scores 6/7 goals and only gets that score , seriously , oh wait wrong thread , their has ALWAYS been a seperate thread for scoring anomalies and discussions

Menegola , Smith , Westhoff are the 3 I will target fwiw.

Think Port need Marshall back in the side ASAP , don't think Ryder & Westhoff have ever been key marking targets

Forwards hard this year. With cash gen tough as well I think jumping on a discount key forward to ride to the byes and cash out could be a winning strategy. Lots coming up soon. One will be right but good luck picking which. Charlie curnow once the 2 slides through definitely holds some appeal to me.

Wingard another premium option, albeit it sounds like he’ll play forward rather than mid. Could go lowish today.

Soooo Rowan Marshall...
- 23 years old (generally just below breakout age for rucks)
- Coming off a 12/62 season sharing duties with Hickey.
- Averaging more than any other ruck bar Grundy (Gawn, Goldy, Stef, Nank, Big Boy take a hike)
- Will be ~400k or just under coming into R5.

Biggest lock for a top forward you've ever had the chance to trade in or too good to be true?

I'm caught between the minds that jumping on now means I'll just stay with the pack, but not jumping on seems like trying to be too tricky. Gonna have to have a big think about this one.

Me too.
It's not unheard of for a mature solo ruck to arrive as a forward and play at keeper level, as I'm sure we all remember:
2014 had Stef go at 111 from $249k, starting R12.
2015 had Gawn go at 102 from $339k, starting R10.

The thing with Marshall now at $406k is that you need him to play at keeper level, or you're just flinging trades around. Stef was such low risk at his price that you could just swap a stalled rookie and roll along - this is quite a different equation.

Someone else posted (in the trades thread maybe?) that his next 5 games are pretty tough, in terms of ruck and opposition. So if he goes at 90 from here (giving him a mid 90s season average) is he worth it at $406k? Just maybe... Any less and you lose I think.
