He got +12 for that first goal, preceded to do nothing for the rest of the half and gave away the 50’s. Sparked up again when game was over.

This is how the scoring has always worked.
It was 4.2.26 vs 0.2.2 early in the 2nd quarter. The "game was over" at that point.

By your (and Champion Data's) logic, shouldn't Georgiades have been scaled a RIDICULOUS amount of points for kicking 1 of only 4 goals when the game was on the line? Every disposal from the 2nd quarter onwards from anyone was essentially "junk stats", but MG was the only player penalised

Champion Data really don't have a leg to stand on with this one.

All premos so far, 4 rookies and Dev Smith to come.
Luckily had Big George looped after his score got mangled while Oliver and Petracca racked up points for passing to Port all night. Go figure.

Cripps, Doch, Sicily.
Neale, Ridley, Dev.

Hoping Ridley doesn't turn to water now that I've finally got him in, the no bye situation was too good to pass up.
Might C Neale, it's between him and Grundy. I think Grundy will monster Darcy, but he's playing on Sunday and I can't recall a good Sunday so far this year...

Unless CD completely open the scaling logic (which they never will), there will always be these huge variations in blow outs.

I remember some game Macrae(?) scored something like 50 points in the first quarter in a blow out and then it just kept getting scaled up and up and up thru the game. Literally nothing effected the score post the first quarter

Interesting debate on CD scoring. I think it’s just another thing we probably should accept won’t be perfect this season with reduced game time and also scorers probably not being allowed to attend the game (and scoring remotely).

Maybe the “junk time” trigger becomes a bit messed up with the reduced game time to create a high variance in scoring. E.g now maybe a 20 pt margin triggers it?

Can’t really blame CD as their formula no doubt is designed for a full game so we can only accept that this is the best we’re gonna get in a year like this.

Not my logic, it’s how it’s always worked.

Other players were affected by the blowout.
Gawn scored bugger for his contested intercept marks in the last. Boak scored less than he should’ve have in the last too.

i gave up any remote interest in understanding the CD scoring systems years back, instead spending my efforts trying to predict who will get one of the 5 golden tickets taht CD offer the players each year!

so far appears Neale and Oliver (perhaps) have found them, who next?

NORTH Melbourne has dropped star spearhead Ben Brown and high-priced midfielder Jared Polec ahead of Saturday's clash with winless Adelaide.

Brown is the sole player in the AFL to kick 60-plus goals in each of the past three seasons but is in a prolonged form slump that's seen him kick only eight majors in as many games in 2020.

He also revealed during the week that he and his wife, Hester, had heartbreakingly lost one of the twins she was due to birth to in February next year.

Majak Daw will return for his first match since round 23, 2018, while recruit Aiden Bonar is also back after missing through soreness at the weekend.

Kangaroos coach Rhyce Shaw said after six straight losses that something had to give.

"It's obviously been a tough period for (Brown) off the field and we all feel for him in that scenario but it's also been pretty tough for him on the field," Shaw said.

"He's been working really hard, as I said to you guys last week, but he just hasn't been getting the results and we're in a position now where we have to get some results.

"We feel as though this is the right time for him to step out of the side and make way for Maj."

Wow, Polec is a big omission.
Brown as well as being out of form has had an unfortunate family situation to deal with.
