Warner/Campbell to Poulter/Cameron gives me this lineup, $111k and 16 trades, which I think I'd like to sit on for a couple of weeks. View attachment 29904

Sucks about Bolton but I think I'm going to hold... in before it turns into a six week injury!
Very nice side!

I never quite got the Brown hype given he wasn't even on the bubble with good performances under his belt, but geez if he can produce a large one or two soon for you'll be flying. And to be fair, if that's probably your biggest issue/weak spot (bar Bolton's injury) then you're doing incredibly well.

Like so many coaches I have been considering trade options especially upgrades to premos versus rising stars. At this time of the season I like to go back to my SC bible and do a bit of reading to give me a better perspective on factors I need to think about when trading. To this end I revisited the excellent Anatomy of an SC Average posted by Rowsus back in 2018. The data may be old the principles are still valid. So for those of you that may not have read this see the link below. Might be really relevant to those thinking of bringing Ridley in soon.

Keeping Ryan with Highmore back.

If Clark is named Sub, he's going out. If he's not the sub... Kozi goes out.
Walker is also going out...

Throwing up whether double down both to Poulter and RCD or go Mitchell and Poulter.

any good midfielder rookies coming through at all?

Just thought I'd check in from a few weeks ago when you were looking to trade Highmore, good to see you used your trade elsewhere as he finally returns!
Bloody lucky in the end, this was the week he was out as I used the last of my Lachie Neale money to save me from a donut.

Everything is coming up Milhouse.

My kitty before trades this week: $268,100. Got RCD last week. So if I double down this week, Warner/Gulden to Poulter/Byrnes, next week with a little luck I can grab Steele and Petracca by trading out Berry and Rowe, assuming they play this week. If a little short will cull another rookie.

@Juzzo Similar situation to me thinking of trading McCreery out and holding Warner. Sydney have a good run and, while McCreery could do ok, Warner is more reliable. Have you thought of holding Warner and trading a different rookie?

I suppose Berry could go, but that might thwart my upgrade plans next week.

I agree it was great info, but I'm not sure what to make of it.

At the start of the week I was set on a one-to-one down with Cox going up to Ridley.

Then across the week I started reading and hearing about Laverde taking kickouts, and how that might be impacting Ridley's numbers.

I started to consider cash gen options like Moore and Harmes as a stepping stone, but decided I really should just play by the numbers.

Then Highmore shows up and potential becomes a massive negative POD for me if he plays for 5 weeks. But also is a massive JS risk.

Other issues are the Campbell "hot spot", which means he's likely dead cash for a while, and my overall cash gen situation is looking poor.

Do I stick with plan 1

Cox>Ridley, Gulden>Poulter
Followed by the next 3 trades being Warner/Campbell/Powell becoming say Gaff/Martin/unknown rookie

Or do I try and get the cash gen going this week with
Cox>Highmore, Gulden>Poulter
Then get Ridley/Gaff/Martin in coming weeks?

Or do I go looking at Moore and Harmes and the like. (I think the answer is no to that one)

As well as the usual array of dodgy rookies I also have Lukosius who would be a trade out option in defence, although I will probably just hold and hope he ends up as a loopable D7, and I've been holding L Jones who I went early on.

Probably just play it straight down the line, and let Highmore go as an anti-POD, and hope a good mid rookie option turns up (perhaps the mod season draft will help with that)

Just realised Ridley is sharing kick out duties now. Redman has a decent kick on him, Ridleys been less than inspiring since the concussion.

Tempted to bring in a mid this week instead now with Highmore back.

Might go bargain hunting on either Titch or Jelly. Jelly with the 24 cbas last week, could be some big scores around the corner if that role sticks.

With those ins your Rd 12 midfield will be a thing of beauty :) Unless you were planning on holding Warner through the byes one week isn't going to make much difference. Nice team especially after those ins - shame about Bolton.

Mulling over these three trade options:

1. Berry + Rowe -> RCD + Poulter w/ 290k ITB

2. Warner + Berry -> Poulter + Hall

3. Scott + Berry -> Poulter + Hall

Any thoughts?

Number 2 for mine.

Scott looks to have more money to make than Warner and both have been scoring similarly.

RCD is projected to rise just 15k more than Hall so I prefer the expected extra points on field from Hall over RCD who could still be an option next week. Plus getting another look at RCD could be handy to ensure he plays a 4th game.

I'm gonna say 1. I think Warner has the Swans cushy run up until the last bye, and should score decent on field points. Additionally, RCD & Poulter should make plenty of coin by their bye and give a perfect trade out target.

While I think Hall could be a good pick, that round 12 bye is a killer for me, but it depends on your bye structure.

Is RCD a must? Feel like he'll be the first to go when injured stars return.
Poulter seems to have better JS.
Thinking Warner > Poulter, opens up DPP as well.

Then Powell > Oliver or Titch

Can't split Oliver or Titch - Oliver in a top winning team and can go huge (I remember his 200 point game). Titch a fantasy pig but being in a bottom 4 team can hurt, and doesn't seem as consistent as he used to be. JOM out means he would get more attention too I suppose?

Poulter over RCD sounds fine.

Personally I'm holding Powell as long as possible but if he's your only avenue to Oliver then that sounds okay I guess. Oliver the better option over Mitchell even at 63k more imo.

It's just one round through (R12) and I've been stung before many times by letting a single bye round distract my optimum upgrade choices to the ultimate detriment of my overall score at the end.

When you say "killer" what does Hall in your side cost you that round? 40 points?

I'm not saying don't get him, if you are light on for rnd 12 players go for it. My team isalready pretty maxed out for rnd 12 premos. Bringing in another will likely mean at least 1 donut, so until rnd 13 I wont be bringing any of them in.
