Yes. I know, I know, I know. I muck around there every single year, and it is my undoing every single year. I just thought this year might be different! :D
Haha - maybe play it straight for this round, and you can spend the better part of a week (or two for the Blues ruck) thinking about whether you should "correct".

Especially if your rookie and mid pricer picks look decent so far.

I am after some advice please ...

I decided to take a risk and go Nic Nat and Naismith in rucks to be a bit PODish and try and get some value.

After Grundy scarred the bejesus out of me last night, I decided to switch things around in my team so I now have Gawn instead of Nic Nat, and I have set my team so that I can grab Grundy next week by removing poorer performed breakout attempts!

With rucks appearing to be going OK, and Naismith looking good to half time, I feel that I should be keeping him on field ahead of other rookies next week, therefore bringing in Grundy may not be a good move now.

Therefore, I am now also worried that Nic Nat v Gawn will nullify each other’s usual positive hitout to advantage. So should I now be looking for value from my R1 as well? I am wondering if I should now take a punt on Jacobs and spend the money saved elsewhere to get another rookie off field? This could still enable me to get Grundy or Gawn next week if required while keeping Naismith.

I hope that makes sense ... Thoughts very much appreciated.
I think stick to your original guns

I know there is a bit of movement and tennis ball bounce in the pitch, but the delivery is coming in on middle stump at a good length and mid wicket is in a bit, so I reckon I can clear cow corner. Bugger it, the team is more important so I have let Jacobs go!

Still reckon I could have cleared the fence!

So rucks are obviously the biggest beneficiary of the game changes, with inside mids looking like the biggest losers. I've brought in Ceglar now. Can't wait for him to buck the trend and score 50.

Interested to see how Gawn goes tomorrow. If ruckmen are putting up 100s from <10 disposals and <12 HTAs then that can only mean good things for Gawn's scoring ability. I wouldn't feel confident captaining many other players except Grundy and Gawn if these scoring trends continue.

Naismith did very well though. Owners would be happy. Wonder how the potential fixture crunch is going to affect ruck rotations.

I think those with Naismith, and most without maybe, will be looking at Pittonet or DKNG for cover with a fwd loop, I know I've been butchering my team this afternoon to set-up for next week.

Blues fans, how clear is it that Pittonet is the number one ruck ahead of De Kooning (or anyone else at Carlton)?

Have not seen enough of pre-season to know.
However he was clearly a pick up to be ready for situations like this. I see no point not picking him in our team next. Having said that, also with McKay and Curnow out there is nothing really against DeKoning playing too.
One thing you got to realise is we are not talking normal football circumstances right now. So predicting as if things are normal and logical is risky too. Remember there are no VFL games for a guy like DeKoning to play in to progress him forward. Thee is not much point holding him back either. In the end, your guess is as good as mine...

Thanks Oz, that’s helpful. I’ll await teams but it seems like getting one of the two, and/or Naismith, may make sense.
