Has anyone heard about the trade loophole?

just joshin'

So if I go Danger to Ziebell, and for some reason Ziebell is a late scratching, I can then go JZ to say Tich (assuming I have viable DPP from mids who hasn't played), for one trade, yes?

What’s with all the commotion about trades etc?

Some of us are crying with Maynard’s score, ie ME.

it’s simple, once the round starts you can’t reverse any trades regardless if the person or his team has played or not.

So if you trade out Dangerfield even before Geelong’s game starts, you can’t reverse the trade as the round has started.

It’s still rolling lockout and you can trade players any time but once the round starts, ie 1 min after the first game, you can’t reverse your trades regardless if that player or team has played or not.
Actually Herald Sun must have changed it but Moderators just sent me a PM and said I may be incorrect.

Anyhow sorry no time.

Friendly Banter is okay but be nice to everyone anyway

By God, there is a glitch that wasn't there in previous years and doesn't appear against the rules. Love it. Now please go find a new thread called how broke the 2 trade limit theory. Thanks for your testing!

Just confirming, if I traded Danger to Dusty before the round starts and trade Dusty to Danger now, do I get my trade back?
Yes, or if you trade Dusty to whoever you want you will still keep your other trade
Nope, you would lose both trades to the best of my understanding. I wouldn't do that.

EDIT: Sounds like I'm wrong. I must be thinking of a different game. Sorry for any confusion.
I just did it myself, it definitely works.
My bad, must be thinking of a different game.
All good, it's a pretty daunting thing to try for yourself without actually knowing the outcome, I made a second account just to make sure haha
Once this game started you lose the trade, as you can’t reverse it
Well player sir Can't be messing around with a man's Supercoach team!
Must have changed this year. Normally you can’t undo trades once the round starts
That's what I always thought. I'm going to stay out of it now to prevent any more confusion on my behalf
He is not undoing the trade though.

X to Y , Y to Z counts as a zero trade but you get a different player.

Worked in BBL SC as previously stated and used by many in that format.

The trick is not to use your second trade before you do it.
Try it with DPP trades and you might quickly change your mind how advantageous it can be.
It would be handy if you had to get rid of a player from an early game without being sure who you wanted to trade in especially with the staggered announcement of games. So Dow to Berry. And if Berry doesn't get named, Berry to Jordon. 1 trade. Can't say I have any experience with it.
I wouldn't be trying to trade and untrade after the round starts. Sounds like either a glitch or something else - I am not going to be giving it a whirl to test for sure.
It's a loophole, can be done.
I like it, but... You'd think they should put this in the rules, right? Or am I missing something?
It's probably a glitch. And the more it is talked about on public forums the more likely the chances that they will stop it.
It is true, after a round starts you can not reverse trades.

Trading Danger -> Martin and then Martin -> Danger is not reversing trades.

Reversing trades re-sets you team to last weeks ending status, thats why the 'Reverse Trades' does not work after the round has started.

I beleive is is a 'loopohole' that doing the Danger -> Martin and Martin -> Danger costs no trades, like wise Danger -> Martin and then Martin - >Mitchell only costs one trade.

But it only works if you have a trade un-used for the round.

If you did Rowell -> Mitchell and then Danger -> Martin you would have no trades left fo the week so you would be unable to do the reverse Martin -> Danger trades.
Also put end to the speculation he may not travel away due to year 12 being a priority. good sign.

This is handy little trick. Might be particularly useful for rookie corrections when we won’t know who will actually be on the bubble for later named teams.

so trade out the dropped early game rookie for any late game rookie (doesn’t matter if non-playing) and the switch in the playing NON-SUB rookie when teams are named.

Is that logic correct that would only be counted as one trade?
Not 'Reverse Changes' It's just trading out Player B for Player A (The original player) and it allows you to keep your original number of trades

This perfectly sums up what I was trying to say earlier , nailed it.
I think the logic is correct as long as you did not need to get the original rookie back I can't see why not, but can not confirm.

So E.g Fullarton ->Brockman and then before Brockman plays Brockman. Brockman -> Freo rookie

Disclaimer: I have not confirmed this works and have never actually done it.

But the logic seems to say it would work.
Given Jordan, Flynn, Meek, Brockman, Kossi, Dow and other relevant rookies play next Sunday it would be great if someone can confirm they have done this successfully. (Better still if they do it successfully this weekend!)
It's also worth noting that this obviously isn't intentional so may change at any time. I wouldn't rely on it.
So if I read this correctly, I can trade Danger to a player playing later in the round and then on-trade that player to my player of choice and that only counts as one trade?? That's a fairly significant loophole if it works. Would be bloody valuable given the spread of games from Thurs to Sunday and the 24 hour team announcements.
I wouldn't think so once Dangers game starts the trade is done and you can't on-trade. If you can that makes 2 loopholes I had no idea you could do.
Danger has been traded out so doesn't come into the equation at all

eg Danger - > Dusty (nah changed mind) Dusty - > Tex Walker

= 1 trade
Your mentioning the first loophole this is different. This is after the Danger game has started I believe @Wheedus has mentioned.
ok I have posted about it enough

it worked in BBL SC , people have posted it has worked again already this season for AFL SC , so I will just leave it at that

of course once the Geelong game has commenced you can't change Dangerfield out

geez if that loophole existed you would trade out every player that had a dud score eg Cripps
I ag

I agree with what you are saying but that is loophole number 1 this is different from what Wheedus is mentioning and is a different loophole.

This is the second loophole that I don't believe you can do but is the discussion. Trade Danger for Dusty and after Dangers game has started you can still trade Dusty for somebody else who hasn't played yet and it's still only 1 trade because Dusty hasn't played yet either.

I hate even hitting the trade button unless I'm 100% certain, so no mucking around with this reversal stuff for me... knowing me, I'd stuff it up anyway..
I am pretty confident that @Wheedus knows he can't trade Danger out after the Geelong game has started.

Not quite sure what Loophole number 1 is that you are referring to.

As far as I know their is only one trade loophole which has worked for a number of years and was used successfully in the BBL SC.

So maybe mentioning 2 loopholes is actually causing more confusion.
Of course you can't trade Danger after his game has started. That is not the discussion at all but I will leave it at that.
Yep , sorry I don't understand why you mentioned 2 loopholes when the trade loophole is only one.

It works , so time to move on.
My question is, can you do the second part after Danger has played? Essentially trade Danger to Dusty before Geelong plays (tonight). Then on Saturday trade Dusty to Tex. Is that still just one trade?
Yes that is correct.

That is the one and only trade loophole I have been talking about.
Cheers fellas. That's certainly a great way of buying time until Sunday teams are released.
Once the cats are locked out you cant go back to danger, so I think the loophole will be invalid and you may lose another trade, worth noting that I HAVE NOT tried this one
That is exactly what I thought you mentioned the whole time. You where referring to first loophole as mentioned below to come up with second loophole suggestion.

First loophole was before round 1 starts you can trade Danger to Dusty and before Dangers game you can trade Dusty back to Danger and no trade is used at all.

Second loophole is what you are mentioning now.
It's not going back to Danger he is gone from your team it's who you traded him to that hasn't played you can apparently trade that player to somebody else who hasn't played either.
Is the trade loophole in reference to a spot on the ground? Once a player gets locked they not....
For this specific scenario I'd assume given Dusty has DPP It would just put him in the mids, if he did not have DPP then i'd say the answer is up in the air.
Hadn't thought of that. Even more complex. Has anyone actually asked Virtual Sports?

They can't close the loophole during the year as it effectively changes the game after it's started.
Danger & Campbell are both F/M surely you just swap them before doing the trade.

People seem to want to overcomplicate something that is very simple to use.

If people don't believe it works , best suggestion is they actually try and do it for themselves and actually see what happens 😀
Damn you and your crystal balling, I was gonna trade Brayshaw in tomorrow!!!
Let's all just stop living on the edge, keep our grubby fingers away from the trade button and just relax
Is this official, or a glitch? Seems like a strange one. Would have thought there’d have been more buzz about it either way.
ok last post on it before I go bonkers

It is official
Are you sure😎
Go and do a trade and try it then come back and tell me what happens.

Must not have used your full quota of trades though for it to work
Sorry Herb, just joshing you, I hadn’t been thorough and read the whole thread - and wanted to see what would happen if you went bonkers.

For the record, I won’t be trying it unless I’m desperate... fair loophole though, and one that would definitely help with teams being named piecemeal as they are now.
I give it an hour max before someone else queries it...
Sorry this is long, but hopefully it clarifies the trade loophole discussion...

do an additional trade to undo an earlier trade. All in all, there is really nothing there that forbids
It's not a bug, it's a feature

/popcorn and waits for @Herbie66 to explain the 'loophole' to Jay.
Let's not make Herbie any angrier. The post from @sgt5 below explains it really well.

I'm not game to try but I can't argue with the logic.
Hahaha i actually didn’t read it (got no time), just skimmed it and saw a commotion and fixed it.

Soccer training for my son
Just tried it, works fine.

Before the round started, I traded Danger to Dunkley,

10mins ago, I traded Dunkley to Dusty and confirmed the trade and still only one trade used.

I then traded Dusty back to Dunkley and confirmed the trade, and now I still have one trade left.
We have found a new way to waste a weekend.

Let us see how many times can we keep doing it.

I’ll bite:

1 Andrew Brayshaw
2 Aaron Naughton
3 Jaidyn Stephenson
4 Adam Cerra
5 Cameron Rayner
6 Hunter Clark
7 Luke Davies-Uniacke
8 Nick Coffield
9 Paddy Dow
10 Lachie O’Brien
I'll bite also, without factoring in team needs of those who drafted, just pure rankings of the draft.

1. Oscar Allen
2. Adam Cerra
3. Hunter Clark
4. Andrew Brayshaw
5. Noah Balta
6. Zac Bailey
7. Tim Kelly
8. Liam Ryan
9. Luke Davies-Uniacke
10. Aaron Naughton.

Some seriously good prospects not making the cut with Meek, Worpel, Coffield, Rayner, Stephenson, Higgins, Powell, Fritsch, McCartin and a few others.

Rayner the hard one with the injury factored in. Freo and West Coast both crushed that draft.

I went off Cripps about a week before R1 but didn't really have any other options I liked in his price range (other than Rowell, which would've ended even worse). The mysterious scans he had after the pre-season game worried me. He looks as cooked as last year.
