GREATER Western Sydney will be without Toby Greene for the next four matches after the superstar forward injured his shoulder against Richmond on Saturday.

Greene has been a standout performer for the Giants this season, kicking 22 goals and at least one major in all nine games so far.
Don't like seeing any player injured... But certainly not unhappy that Greene will be missing this week against the Eagles, lol

Yeah who knows though, whether form or still injured. I was more baffled by the lack of transparency given this was apparently a preseason issue...!
Not sure it is a good idea to tell the other clubs that someone has a fractured back, but playing on. Would change the focus to another player more attention to Walsh, plus the case of players crashing into Cripps back at ever opportunity, especially in marking contests.

Think every other club would have done the same.

Then don't take sponsorship money from gambling companies and/or allow gambling at all on the competition.

Totally agree that it would be foolish to tell other clubs if a player is carrying an injury and where the injury is.
Not good for us SuperCoaches though :(

Not good for gamblers not knowing if a backed in player is carrying an injury. Unfortunately money rules and it would not be finacially beneficial for any AFL club to take a moral stance, if all the other clubs are not and they are raking in the profits.

The AFL need to be transparent, just the same as the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, etc. with their injury designations.

If Cripps and Neale were listed as questionable each week for the the first few weeks of the season, consumers would know to temper their expectations. Those consumers encompass members, fans, fantasy players and gamblers.

The competing clubs have spies/watchers for all the other clubs. It is doubtful that competing clubs don't know whether opposition team upcoming is carrying players with limitations.

Shouldn't Carlton be wanting it's members to know that Cripps is a true blue warrior worthy of Blue Bagger Legend status rather than a liability who they are happy to let go in free agency.

The last part is the key part, basically throwing the players under the bus and letting them cop the heat for playing injured instead of just saying "he's playing hurt and it's a great effort".
